Senior Designer
- Hybrid
- London, Greater London, United Kingdom
- Professional Triathletes Organisation
Job description
Who We Are:
The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) is not your typical sports organisation. We're a global start-up, co-owned by professional athletes themselves, on a mission to celebrate and elevate the sport of triathlon like never before.
In just four years, we’ve disrupted the entire sport, launching the T100 Triathlon World Tour in 2024, bringing the world’s top-ranked athletes to iconic cities including Miami, Singapore, San Francisco, London, Ibiza, Las Vegas, and Dubai, where we crowned our first-ever World Champions. We’ve expanded beyond the Professional Tour to bring T100 mass participation races to people all over the world who can now experience the same incredible atmosphere, same iconic locations on the same stage as the pros. And in 2025? We’re going even bigger.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high performing, high-energy, values-driven team with leadership talent from the likes of UFC, RFU, Uber, Meta, ATP, Sail GP, and F1 - all passionate about building something extraordinary from the ground up.
At the PTO, we’re passionate about triathlon, serious about quality, and obsessed with innovation. We don’t just talk, we get sh!t done. We move fast, collaborate as a small team, and challenge the status quo at every turn. It’s what gives us our EDGE - our core values framework that drives how we work, how we win, and how we show up every day.

Role
We’re looking for a highly efficient creative and execution-focused Senior Designer to play a key role in delivering brand excellence across all PTO outputs. Reporting into the Senior Director of Event Services and Social Lead, you’ll act as the primary design partner for our operations team - owning everything from event signage and race-day materials to athlete deliverables, partner activations, and on-site production assets.
In this role, you’ll be instrumental in bridging the gap between content-driven and operations-led design, ensuring a cohesive visual identity across all departments. You’ll bring hands-on craft, clear creative thinking, and strong collaboration skills to a fast-paced, event-focused environment - while also contributing to broader brand consistency initiatives across marketing, content, and broadcast.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on delivering under pressure and cares deeply about building a brand that inspires and performs on every stage.
This role is based at our London HQ, with potential travel opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Design Ownership
● Lead the end-to-end design execution across all core event and operational materials - from course maps and race packs to signage systems and on-site branding.
● Act as the go-to design partner for our operations team, translating briefs into clear, consistent, and on-brand outputs.
Asset Production & Artworking
● Produce pixel-perfect, production-ready artwork across print and digital outputs, including maps, t-shirts, signage, guides, and more.
● Apply meticulous attention to detail in layout, typography, colour accuracy, scaling, and formatting.
● Work across multiple formats, specifications, and deadlines simultaneously - maintaining pace and quality.
Template & System Design
● Build and maintain scalable templates and toolkits to drive efficiency and consistency across design workflows.
● Take ownership of our internal design systems and continually refine them for clarity, adaptability, and ease of use.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
● Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (particularly operations, marketing, and broadcast) to ensure all design requirements are met with clarity and consistency.
● Provide creative direction, mentorship, or quality control to freelance designers or junior team members when needed.
● Share inspiration, best practices, and design standards to strengthen the overall creative output of the organisation.
Who We’re Looking For
● 6+ years of professional design experience, including ownership of brand, campaign, and high-volume production work.
● Proven ability to lead design across a company, manage multiple workstreams, and uphold brand standards at scale.
● A portfolio that demonstrates high craft and consistency across digital, print, and experiential formats.
● Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop); After Effects and Canva experience a plus.
● Excellent knowledge of graphic design fundamentals - layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and colour.
● Ability to use typographic systems and hierarchy to drive engagement, readability, and conversion across sales and marketing materials.
● Strong understanding of print-ready artwork standards, across signage, apparel, and promotional materials.
● Calm, organised, and focused under pressure; able to deliver at pace without compromising standards.
● Confident communicator with a collaborative mindset and a desire to contribute to a high-performance team culture.
● Interest or developing experience in AI tools and workflow efficiencies to support scale and speed.
Core Deliverables You’ll Own
● Event Branding: Press backdrops, podiums, finish tape, LED arches, swim intro panels
● Participant Materials: Ideation and brand oversight on participant-facing items such as course maps, athlete guides, race packs, t-shirts, finisher medals
● Signage Systems: Directional signage, access passes, flags, mesh, toblerones, sponsor panels
● Experience Assets: Photowalls, expo signage, activation spaces, name walls
The PTO Values: The EDGE we’re seeking
● Entrepreneur at Heart: A ‘Doer’ who thinks and acts like a founder, driving impact and pushing boundaries to achieve key results. You like getting ‘stuck in’ and making sure that great ideas come to life and deliver real change.
● Dynamic Innovator: An adaptable individual who thrives in fast paced environments, seeking new opportunities to drive progress.
● Growth Mindset: Embraces challenges as opportunities, bouncing back stronger from every setback. There is nothing you can’t do if you apply yourself fully.
● Equality of voice: A. Team. Player. Able to inspire and motivate others, bringing energy, innovation, and a can-do attitude to our startup environment.
